An odd collection of characters, who have ended their lives for very different reasons, find themselves in limbo circling London aboard The Late Bus. The play explores the nature of suicide and society’s reaction to it. The company worked in partnership with the mental health charity Mind to highlight the scale of suicide in the UK and the frightening fact that 24,000 10-19 year olds attempt suicide every year. Borgia's Kitchen won the Runner's Up Prize in the ENO Trailer Competition for the opera Lucrezia Borgia (2011) directed by Mike Figgis. Three of Alison's poems have been listed for the Plough Prize for Children's Poetry; Daddy's Shoes was short listed in 2009, Pockets was long listed in 2010 and Monkey Business was short listed in 2012. |
