Handing out free copies of The Road by Cormac McCarthy at Bedford College Library as part of World Book Night, a project which encourages infrequent readers to read. Update - this was harder than expected. 'No thanks I'm alright' seems to be Teen code for 'Back off old book peddling woman' . I now have more sympathy for Jehovah's Witnesses, still all the books went to good homes eventually.

Four star review from the Guardian for Musicircus - what a hoot although singing for four hours with only random breaks generated by the throw of a di was pretty exhausting. Ed Gardner's ability to conduct a musicless score with no preparation was impressive and who was the spooky fawn in the spotted tights?

An extraordinary promenade performance of John Cage's 'Musicircus' directed by Stephen Montague will take place
throughout the London Coliseum on 3rd March. Performers include music legends
Michael Nyman and Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones alongside the ENO
Community Choir (Jeryl, Peter and Alison are members), ENO Opera Works singers, and an intriguing collective
of professional and amateur talents.
